I have no idea what day of the week it would be, but if there is any interest I can start writing up a new campaign and have it ready for the future. Maybe we can play it here and there when opportunity strikes or something.

Thirded.I would love to get into another game, since the Ray one fizzled out, but I would only be able to do it on Thursday or Friday after 8, or Monday or Tuesday anytime. An Every other week game would be rocking.

I am also of interest in topic as given. It's been a while since I've been in a decent sci-fi setting.

Well I've been putting some notes together here and there and picked up the Cannibal Sector 1 book along with the new Hunter Sheets thing (the CS1 book is fucking awesome, the place is even worse that I had imagined) and its really rekindled my interest in running it again. The biggest stumbling block for me is trying to fix the extremely clunky (and open to abuse) combat system. I gave up trying to convert it to d20 since it just felt to "DnD'y" if that makes any sense. It just didn't fit the world. Now I'm trying to alter the original system it a bit and make more streamlined. If that fails I think I might try a slightly revised Call of Cthulhu system since it's so easy to use, and SLA's setting has a lot of common themes with Cthulhu.

Just an update to let you all know I haven't forgotten about this.

Cool, sounds awesome. SLA's combat system is pretty broken, but I think you're onto something borrowing from CoC.

I still have the same time commitment issues, but let me know what is decided.

You know I'm DFW, and S*L*A has a pretty damn cool setting.

What are the hunter sheets? I have resisted reading CS1, and will continue in hopes of playing SLA. Fix the Ebb, I would really like to play in a campaign where I can get close to/achieve Necanthrope levels. I would also like to see a Stormer powered up. I am thinking Ebon, the stormer variant from CS1, or if it is a small sneaky party a Vevaphon.

SLA-Thulu had another breakthrough today. I believe I've come up with a way to deal with the Ebons and not have them overshadow every other race. I think this might actually work, now I just need to hammer out the details and do the gruntwork. My txt file is coming along nicely.

Edit: Also, I just realized that with the way I've envisioned the system playing a Vevaphon might actually not be an accounting nightmare. Bonus.

Bonafide bad-ass.

I agree that Ebb users need a revamp. Not that I have done a lot of research into this, but here's an idea. Maybe have a multi-classing rule like in D&D 3.X for Ebb powers. Like you can't have one power more than X ranks above your other powers, or a penalty for doing so or something. Its not the Ebons that are necessarily overpowered, but pumping the Deathsuit, which pretty much becomes your character, with splashes of jump, red/blue thermal and blast seemed at times the only way to create an ebon/brainwaster with any kind of survivability.

Playable Vevs would be fucking awesome.

That is a pretty good solution, as long as it can be scaled so that when other pc's are buying mal shok armor, it is comparable. That is the main problem, ebons buy up protect, and are nigh untouchable, unless better guns are used by npc's. This leaves anyone else sol, unless they somehow have the best in powered armors. Leaving the big guns/armors out until later is good, and might make for better tactics (like us using a sniper).

Sometimes the low-hanging comedy fruit is rotten on the comedy tree. Don't be that guy.

Also, I think somebody here gets a "Fuck you too, buddy!"

For real, that joke can kiss my low-hanging comedy fruit.

Also, if this goes off, I am totally in. The same goes for pretty much any other game that starts up that isn't D&D or Champions.
